Brandon Twins Headed to Nationals

The Brandon twins are going to nationals in Pittsburgh with their travel hockey team on April 5. Both play on the North Jersey Avalanche and have been playing hockey for 11 years.

After finishing undefeated in AYHL (23-0) and 75-10 in the regular season, the Avalanche won the AAA district tournament in Philadelphia and now are qualified for national tournament.

Goalie Tate Brandon, junior, said, “Hockey has taught me more then any classroom or teacher could. In the past 11 years I learned how to cope with losing and injuries, and I also learned a great deal of maturity and how to truly be a man.”

Pierson Brandon, a defenseman, posted 19 assists in AYHL on route to the district tournament.He’s optimistic about their chances at nationals.

“We just have to play our game and anything can happen,” he said.
