In previous years, Irvington’s prom has been held at the Westchester Manor in Hastings. However, with many students expressing their displeasure in the Manor, senior Cameron Soravilla and junior Mykal Bartlett have successfully pushed to change the venue. This year, prom will be held at the Ardsley Country Club.
Emmett Winton, junior, calls the move to the Ardsley Country Club “a great thing.”
“The old place wasn’t that nice and Ardsley Country Club is beautiful.”
Senior Eleni Papapanou agreed. “Last year, I felt the location was really sketchy—it was practically on the side of the road. Also, the food wasn’t that great either.”
“To be honest, pre-prom was more exciting,” Erica Corinaldi, senior, said. “[At the Manor] they had another sweet sixteen going on at the same time. It all felt very overwhelming.”
Senior Elizabeth Hargraves, a member of the club, vouches for the venue. “It will be really nice this year. Ardsley Country Club is amazing.”
This move in location has been wholly welcomed by students, with many now hopeful for a much more enjoyable and pleasant experience.
