All around Irvington this school year, lots of students have been in love with a new internet phenomenon: water bottle flipping.
This new fad has spread like wildfire all across America when a video on Instagram went viral of a student flipping his water bottle. After this new fad was established, the kids rushed to create videos of themselves flipping water bottles.
Kids started to put the song “Ultimate” by Denzel Curry to their own videos after the video was released of the famous water bottle flipper in the talent show. The humorous videos these kids produce feature them doing crazy flips, and then cut to a totally different water bottle that is standing up perfectly.
Sophomore Sidney Thybulle, a frequent flipper, said, “When I water bottle flip, I feel accepted by my friends.”
This new fad has not been fun for everyone though.
Mrs Palmer, a math teacher said, “Many of the teachers I have spoken with agree with me and also think it is annoying when they flip their bottles.”
Sophomore Christopher Chafizadeh said, “We have the rights to flip our bottles, no matter what the teachers say.”
However, some students in the community are tired of this overused and obnoxious fad.
Camille Copp, a sophomore, said, “Water bottle flipping gets me so unfocused because I always try to be the best.”
Jane Flynn, a sophomore, said “It makes me lose my concentration when I am trying to do my work.”
