NFL Season Wrap-up

by Zachary Krady

The 2025-2026 NFL season concluded in spectacular fashion with its biggest event, the Super Bowl. The Seattle Seahawks secured their second franchise title with a 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots. The season was defined by great shifts in the standings across both conferences, along with the breakouts of major young stars.

The Seahawks dominated the NFC, finishing the regular season at 14-3 behind a career resurgence from quarterback Sam Darnold after being signed from the Minnesota Vikings. The Seahawks also had an elite defensive unit that was essential during their playoff run.

Meanwhile, the New England Patriots emerged as the surprise of the year, finishing with a stunning record of 14-3 after only winning 4 games the previous season. They were led by 2nd year sensation and MVP candidate Drake Maye and new head coach Mike Vrabel.

Sophomore Jake Piersol said, “I would have never expected the Patriots to be where they are now, especially as a Bills fan, but I do have to admit Drake Maye is special. It definitely heats things up in the AFC East.”

Next year will be just as exciting. Super Bowl LXI will conclude the season in SoFi Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.

With the Kansas City Chiefs having a disappointing season, it will certainly be interesting to see how they respond to the failure. Rumors are already circulating that they may aim to reunite with Tyreek Hill, their former superstar wide receiver. He was cut from the Miami Dolphins at the end of season. Additionally, because of their disappointing season, they hold the #9 overall pick, which could be used to draft a new young star.

The 2026 NFL draft is on April 23, with this year’s class bringing a fresh set of prospects, headlined by projected number 1 overall pick, Fernando Mendoza.

The 2026 NFL free agency period officially begins on March 11, allowing teams to recruit new players in order to polish their rosters and fill any holes.

With an official wrap on the 2025 NFL season, fans can look back at this historic season and prepare themselves for next year.
