Strong Start for Varsity Bowling

By Nick Grados

The Varsity Boys Bowling team is starting the season off on a tear.

In their first match of the season against Children’s Village, The Bulldogs swept them which gained a ton of momentum. They brought this energy to their next match against Ardsley, who they also swept, improving their record to 2-0.

There is a lot of hype building in Irvington High School around this team, seeking the sectional championship. The team has shown some spectacular skill so far this season and are looking to keep it going.

The team loves their leader, Coach Madison. The Senior Captain Jake Epple had to say this about the start of the season, “The freshmen are stepping up in a big way to contribute to the team’s wins and Coach Madison is effectively using subs to give guys’ arms a rest and make sure everyone is bowling their best when we’re competing”.

This team is very deep and has the leaders to bring them to the section championship. Coach Madison and Captain Jake Epple are making a large impact on younger bowlers on the team.

On the other hand, the Girls Varsity Bowling team has not had the start that they have wanted yet. They started the season of 0-1, looking for their first win.
