Should The Testing Schedule Be Better Enforced?

By Mika Hughes

You wake up and realize you have two unit tests for your most important classes tomorrow. You stress out while trying to study for both of them, and struggle to juggle homework on top of your studying. By the time you feel somewhat confident, it’s late at night. How many times have you found yourself in a situation similar to this?

Teachers are supposed to follow a certain testing schedule based on what subject they teach. For example, math tests are supposed to be assigned on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Most teachers do end up abiding by these days, but sometimes when they don’t it can cause students to become overwhelmed and stressed by another exam they have in a different class. That one extra day can relieve them ever so slightly to the point where it may even allow them to do better on both tests.

Most students aren’t even aware of what subjects are on what days. Doesn’t that signal that many teachers aren’t following the schedule?

I personally think that there should be a stricter policy towards the schedule, or that there should be a set number of tests per day. No student should be forced to take more than three tests in one day unless they need to make up a test. Either the policy must be changed or the schedule must be more known.
