“Vaccinate, Educate, Graduate” Entices Students to get Vaccinated

By Kevin McLaughlin

Families in New York State with children ages 5-11 have the opportunity to get their children vaccinated, with the chance of being selected for a SUNY or CUNY scholarship.

“Vaccinate, Educate, Graduate” is the promotion being advertised by the state in order to get more children ages 5-11 vaccinated.  Ten winners per week for five weeks will receive full scholarships, including tuition, and room and board resulting in 50 total winners over the course of this promotion.  As well as many others who got vaccinated to enter, this will end up making an impact on keeping our students, and schools safe.

“Our critical work to make the vaccine accessible and available to all eligible children and their families is underway – and we will creatively support and celebrate those who get vaccinated,” said New York Governor Kathy Hochul.

She added, “The ‘Vaccinate, Educate, Graduate’ program is an extraordinary opportunity for children to win free tuition to a SUNY or CUNY college or university, and I urge parents and guardians to help their children get vaccinated and enter into this once-in-a-lifetime program.”

Three children from Westchester County have won so far.
