Winter Sports Week of February 22th, 2021

Winter sports have continued, and unfortunately some have already come to a close… here are this past weeks results:

Varsity Girls Basketball: 

  • Beat Dobbs Ferry 42-39 for a Senior Day win on Tuesday, February 23rd 
  • Beat Bronxville on Wednesday, February 24th
  • Beat Bronxville 44-38 on Saturday, February 27th 
  • Beat Dobbs Ferry 31-27 on Sunday, February 28th for a regular-season sweep against Dobbs Ferry 

Varsity Boys Basketball:

  • Beat GNC 77-16 for a Senior Day win on Wednesday, February 24th 
  • Lost to Hastings 47-34 on Saturday, February 27th

Varsity Ice Hockey:

  • Lost season opener to Scarsdale 12-3 on Wednesday, February 24th 
  • Lost 7-2 to Mamaroneck on Friday, February 26th
  • Lost 8-2 to Mamaroneck at home on Sunday, February 28th

Varsity Bowling: 

  • Both the girls and boys Irvington Bowling teams placed third in their respective sectional pool to cap off a great season!

Varsity Girls Track:

  • Took a smashing win in the girls 4 by 300 relay in a historic parking garage track meet, setting an Irvington High School record!

Varsity Boys Track:

  • Fell just short in the boys 4 by 600 relay, but came in 2nd behind a tough Somers relay team!

Varsity Fencing: 

  • Boys foil placed second in the league, and second in the section
  • Girls foil placed second in the league, and second in the section
  • Boys Epee placed third in the league, and third in the section
  • Anshuman Das took Bronze in the Individual Men’s Foil Tournament
  • Camryn Scott took Bronze in the Individual Women’s Foil Tournament
  • Jess Logozio took Bronze Bronze in the Women’s Epee Tournament

Congratulations to the Irvington Fencing team on an extremely impressive performance this season!!
