The IHS fall drama production this year was Clue performed on the evening of Friday, November 1st at 7:30 and as well as on the evening of Saturday, November 2nd, also at 7:30. Directed by Mr. DiGiovanni, the play follows the search for the murderer of the host of a dinner party in a comedic murder mystery.
This year’s cast was quite large and multiple roles were played by two different people on different days. No performance was ever the same. Another interesting component of the play was the demographic of the cast. Over 50% of the cast was made up of freshmen.
Despite the difference in age, “It’s been normal,” said Paul Biaggi who played the role of Mr.Boddy. “It’s freshmen, so there is a certain atmosphere that they bring with it. But overall, everyone just wants to get the play done.”
The IHS tech crew, led by Ms. Condit worked alongside the cast members of the play.
“It’s been kind of rushed because we had a really late start this year. But we have a lot of new freshmen in tech crew, so we have a lot of new people to get the work done. We’ve been putting a lot of hours in to get the set done,” said tech crew member Aidan Mcclure.
Max Van Osdol, who played the character of Wadworth, managed to stay in character throughout the duration of the play.
“Well, I thought it would be good advertising and it was also just fun to stay in character,“ Van Osdol said.
Many peers turned heads hearing his accent, but it served its purpose. “It got a lot of people to ask about the play.”
Max not only stayed in character, but won student of the week because of it.
“I wasn’t expecting to be student of the week. It certainly made me feel good because I put a lot of effort into my performance,” said Van Osdol.
This year’s play came with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement and it ended just the same.
“The play left me with high hopes and I am very eager to see how the cast will perform again in the spring musical,” said senior Amelie Chushko.
