Where to Eat in Irvington for Under $15

By Aaron Strow

Irvington is widely known for stunning views over the Hudson River and great dining experiences; However, you do not need a large budget in order to eat extravagantly. Some of the absolute best foods in the town can be found right on Main Street and Broadway for less than fifteen dollars.

Tony’s Pizzeria on South Broadway provides a variety of delicious and cheap foods. A plain cheese slice costs $4.00, and when topped with options like the Buffalo Chicken or barbeque chicken it costs around $5.95. Additionally, the Chicken Parm hero is made with breaded cutlets and mozzarella  costing $13.50, and the “Irvington Bulldog” Wedge which incorporates grilled chicken, broccoli and cherry peppers is $13.95.

Lucas Constantine, a sophomore at Irvington High said “Whenever I am hungry after school, I will almost always go to Tony’s pizza because of its cheap offers”

Furthermore. Near Broadway is Irvington Delight which serves a variety of drinks, sandwiches, and special meals. The vegetarian Falafel Wrap is a great deal for only $12.99, and the Chicken Shawrama wrap and Lamb Kabob wrap are priced at $12.99 and $13.99.

Although both of these restaurants provide great offers, a fan favorite around the student body is Geordanes Neighborhood Market. Whether ordering at school or walking along Main Street, students can buy anything, from salads, sandwiches or ice cream. The market has a large range of ice creams and milkshakes that stay under $7.00. As the temperature is starting to rise as summer is turning near, ice cream is the perfect cheap option for anyone looking to cool down.

While these are restaurants that have long influenced what students eat, the newest addition of Bliss Bakehouse, located at 94 Main Street has sparked interest. This new store specializes in homemade sweet treats like decadent cupcakes and cookie butter that are available for $6.00. Furthermore, the rich s’mores and caramel brownies that cost around $5.00 are a great way to save money.

Wyatt Cloutman, a sophomore at Irvington High School tried out the new shop and said “ I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of desserts at the store and the costs were all very reasonable.”

Clearly, Irvington has a variety of foods across countless stores that are not only cheap, but also tasty. Whether students are looking for a small slice of pizza, ice cream, or salads, there is always an affordable option.
