Timothée Chalamet Is Having a Bad Couple Weeks

By Zachary Surchin

Over the last few weeks, Timothee Chalamet has stirred up a lot of controversy about multiple different things. This has caused some praise from some people and a lot of backlash from other people.

A couple weeks ago Timothee Chalamet sat down with another famous actor, Matthew McConaughey, for a live interview on a Variety and CNN town hall event. Throughout that interview, Chalamet said a lot of things that stirred up controversy among fans.

Chalamet stated some bold opinions, saying “ballet or opera or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive,’ even though no one cares about this anymore.”

This has caused many fans to be angry at him. Ballet and Opera have been sources of entertainment for many decades. These two art forms are unique in many ways, which is a reason why many enjoy them. While Chalamet may not find opera or ballet interesting, many people still do.

Multiple organizations in these industries such as the Metropolitan Opera and English National Opera have issued public statements, calling Chalamet “ignorant”t.

“I can’t say I disagree, because I am not really into opera and ballet as well, but it was a dumb thing for someone like Timothee Chalamet,” said IHS junior Brandon Reich. “It’s bound to get a lot of attention.”

On top of this, Chalamet also claimed that his movie, Marty Supreme, was going to win all nine of its nominations at the Oscars. However, Marty Supreme lost every single one of its nine nominations.

This made Timothee Chalamet even worse to the public eye because not only did Chalamet say a controversial thing about opera and ballet, but he was also super cocky about his latest movie and he didn’t win anything.

Although Chalamet is still one of the premier figures in the film industry, this has been a really bad last couple weeks for him and he will have to find a way to gain some of his fans back.
