With Valentine’s Day coming up on February 14, Dunkin has released new, tasty products on their menu for the holiday. Dunkin updates its menu annually for Valentine’s Day, launching limited-time food and drinks that usually feature specialized donuts, espresso drinks, and even themed Munchkins tins.
This year, there are seven drinks released for Valentine’s Day. These drinks include the Heart Eyes Daydream Refresher, Toxic Espresso Cloud Latte, Chocolate Covered Strawberry Daydream Refresher, Blush Spritz Refresher, Sweet On You Cloud Latte, The Perfect Matcha, and the Buff Chai. According to the Dunkin menu, the Heart Eyes Daydream Refresher is a Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher with blueberry flavoring and oat milk, topped with sweet cold foam. Next, the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Daydream Refresher is also made from a Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher with oat milk, but it is topped with chocolate cold foam. The Blush Spritz Refresher is yet another Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher, this time topped with sparkling water to give it a bubbly sensation.
The Toxic Espresso Cloud Latte is an espresso drink with mocha swirl and raspberry flavor, topped with chocolate cold foam. The Sweet On You Cloud Latte is also an espresso drink, blended with whole milk, caramel swirl, and coconut flavoring, and finished off with sweet cold foam. Lastly, the Buff Chai is a protein drink made with chai syrup and protein milk, providing 15 grams of protein per drink. All of these drinks sound pretty good, but my personal favorite would be the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Daydream Refresher, because the combination of chocolate foam with the Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher sounds like a delicious blend.
To give these drinks a sweet addition, Dunkin has brought back their heart-shaped donuts, which include the Brownie Batter Classic Donut and the Cupid’s Choice Classic Donut. The Brownie Batter donut is filled with a rich brownie batter–flavored buttercream and topped with chocolate icing and sprinkles, all in a heart shape. On the other hand, the Cupid’s Choice donut is filled with vanilla custard (also known as Bavarian Kreme) and topped with strawberry-flavored icing and festive sprinkles. Other donuts that are available year-round will also be offered in heart shapes, including the Boston Kreme and jelly donuts. Valentine’s Day sprinkle Munchkins will also be available, featuring pink, red, and white sprinkles. Reflecting on this new lineup, senior Ben Weiss says “I have gotten to try the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Daydream Refresher and it was absolute perfection; with such a great complexity in rich flavors that all explode in my mouth.”
The final addition to the Dunkin menu is the creative Valentine’s Day 25-count Munchkins Tin. Each tin includes an assortment of 25 Munchkins donuts and comes in one of three designs: “Sweet On U,” “Just Bucz,” and “Ur A Treat.” According to Dunkin, with every purchase of the tin, Dunkin will donate $2 to the Joy in Childhood Foundation, which is a very thoughtful initiative.
Overall, the new menu items all seem like they would taste really good. Although I have yet to try any of them, hopefully I will be able to before the limited-time menu comes to an end on February 17.
