The 68th Annual Grammy Awards consist of a group of very talented nominees, all of which have been showcasing their music styles and skills. The Grammy winner will be announced at the 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday February 1, 2026.
At the beginning of the list is popular rap artist, Kendrick Lamar, with nine nominations. He is followed by other artists such as Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, and Leon Thomas, who all received at least six nominations.
The most notable nominees for Record of the Year include Bad Bunny’s “DtMF”, Billie Eilish’s “WILDFLOWER”, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “luther”, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild”, and Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra”.
Many students at IHS have expressed their thoughts towards who they think should win Record of the Year. Sophomore Luka Surgaladze says, “I really like Kendrick Lamar and his records, so I think he should win it.”
In addition to this, the nominees for Song of the Year include “Anxiety” by Doechii, “APT” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars, and “Golden [From “KPop Demon Hunters]” by EJAE and Mark Sonnenblick.
Finally, the nominees for the Album of the Year include “Chromakopia” by Tyler the Creator, “GNX” by Kendrick Lamar, “Man’s Best Friend” by Sabrina Carpenter, and “SWAG” by Justin Bieber.
IHS students have also shared their feelings on who should win Album of the Year. Sophomore Max Bergman says “I’m a huge fan of Tyler the Creator and his new album Chromakopia, so I think that he should definitely win.”
These nominees especially stand out due to the variety that they represent, as their genres of music vary from pop and rap all the way to R&B.
Additionally, it is exciting to see the continued rise of newer voices such as Sabrina Carpenter and Doechii, who are now very popular artists after previously being only emerging artists.
Overall, the 68th Annual Grammy nominees reflect a music industry that is continuing to expand with new artists along with the classic icons. The Grammy winners will officially be announced on February 1, 2026.
