New IHS staff member Mr. Johnson has taken up two teaching positions, both Psychology and American Studies, beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. This year has seen several new hires such as a new Spanish teacher and a Dean of Students, and Mr. Johnson is one of them.
Growing up in Hastings, Mr. Johnson is used to the small town feel and shares that the Irvington environment feels very similar to his hometown.
He previously worked in Somers High School and is unused to how small IHS is.
However, he wasn’t always a teacher. Mr. Johnson has a long history in the financial world, where he spent his post-college years. He shared that though he was successful in the financial world, teaching has always been his passion.
Junior Allie Kaye said, “Mr. Johnson has been a great teacher and I’m so excited to have him for the rest of the school year.” The warm welcome and reception that Mr. Johnson has received is a reflection of how excited IHS is to have him in our community.
Mr. Johnson is very excited about the new school year, and looks forward to getting to know his fellow staff and students.
