In April of this year, Kendrick Lamar and SZA set off on their joint Grand National Tour. The tour is scheduled to go until August, and make stops all throughout the US and in Europe. The pop duo are going on tour to promote their new albums: Kendrick’s “GNX” and SZA’s “SOS Deluxe: Lana.”
The duo has been collaborating on songs since 2014, with the release of SZA’s “Babylon’. They’ve seen constant success with their collaborations, continuing to work together after 11 years.
In Kendrick’s album “GNX”, he has songs that feature SZA and have become very popular amongst the media. They featured one of these songs in Kendrick’s Super Bowl halftime show for which SZA appeared as his surprise guest. Their song “Luther” from “GNX” has blown up on social media and was incorporated into their halftime show performance. During the show, they also performed their song “All The Stars,” an older song that is extremely popular, and that they wrote together.
In SZA’s album “SOS Deluxe: Lana,” she has a song that features Kendrick titled “30 for 30” that has also blown up on social media and that is part of the Grand National Tour Setlist.
The tour features seven acts, switching off between individual performances by the two artists. There are also three acts that the two are performing together. Amongst the songs that they are supposed to perform together are “LOVE.”, “Broken Clocks”, and “tv off”.
Junior Jelena Herceg, a fan of both artists both individually and together, said that “[she’d] love to see them perform together. All their songs together are exceptional, and they are both amazing artists in their own way. SZA’s feature in the halftime show wasn’t long enough so I’d love to watch the full songs with her in concert.”
