With this year’s fantasy football season coming to an end, let’s go over the good and the bad, and what’s to come for next season.
This season, there were multiple quarterbacks who put up big numbers. The leader for quarterbacks of this season was Lama Jackson who ended with 430.4 fantasy points, and an average of 25.3 points per game. Seeing as last year he won MVP, and this season he was second in MVP votings, it seems like next year his production won’t go down. The second in the quarterback rankings in Josh Allen who had a total of 379.0 points, and an average of 22.3 points per game. Josh Allen won the MVP this season and took his team to the divisional round of the playoffs with a team that many thought would not go far. This year was a major step up in his game since his number of turnovers has gone down significantly. It seems like his production can only go up from here as well. In 3rd place was Joe Burrow who had an amazing season as well. He led the league in passing yards with 4918 and touchdowns with 43 and proved how he is an elite quarterback.
Similar to quarterbacks, there were multiple amazing running backs for fantasy this year. This season, he has taken his team to a superbowl as well as winning Offensive Player of the Year and joining the 2000 yards rushing club. This season for Saquon has been nothing short of great as he ended with 355.3 points, and an average of 22.2 points per game with only 16 games played. With the Eagles amazing offensive line, it is expected that he will keep on producing. Next is Jahmyr Gibbs. Despite sharing reps with David Montgomery, he ended the season with the most fantasy among running backs with 362.9 points, as well as the most total touchdowns among running backs in the league. This was Gibbs’ sophomore season and as he gains more and more reps, it is expected that his production will only keep growing.
Finally for wide receiver, Jamar Chase was dominant as he led the league in touchdowns with 17, yards with 1708, and receptions with 127. He was by far the best receiver this season as he had the triple crown and was a major factor in the Bengal’s offensive success. He ended with 403 fantasy points with an average of 23.7 points per game. It seems that Joe Burrow and Jamar aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, so the sky’s the limit for him. Following him is Justin Jefferson. Justin Jefferson has been a dominant receiver ever since he came into the league and has also been nothing short of amazing. He finished with 1533 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 103 receptions. Fantasy wise, he has 317.5 points with an average of 18.7 points per game. No matter who the quarterback is, Jefferson has proved he can always make it work.
Every fantasy season, there are new leaders and dominant players, and some who stay amazing. Next year is set to be an exciting year for fantasy with some similarities and differences from this year.
