On the northern side of our bustling Main Street lies the deli and grocery store, Geordanes. Geordanes has been a popular place to eat since the late 1980s.
When you walk in, you are hit with a wave of smells coming from the back. Bacon sizzling, Mac and Cheese being prepared, etc. There are many assortments of food that you can choose from. In the front, you can get coffee for early mornings, which is a favorite for many heading down to the train. Next to the coffee area, different homemade pastries lie in a glass cabinet, stealing the attention of those waiting in line at the register. You could get brownies, rainbow cookies, even cakes.
In the back, there is a place to order sandwiches or salads. Some of the most popular foods are Spanish rice, mac n cheese, or the Bacon Egg and Cheese. It’s not only delicious but also has good pricing. A small Spanish rice or mac n cheese goes for only 4.25 and a bacon egg and cheese goes for around 5 bucks.
Bacon, egg and cheese is probably my favorite food to order whenever I stop by. First, they fry the bacon to the perfect crisp, with the egg being cooked to excellence simultaneously. It’s not too liquidy but not burnt on both sides. Combined with the melted cheese and soft kaiser roll, we have a near-perfect bacon egg and cheese.
The mac n cheese is another magnificent piece for your pallet. The Macaroni paired with the creamy cheese is something you can’t pass up.
Last but not least, would have to be the Spanish rice. I don’t think I have ever had better Spanish rice. The flavor and seasoning from the rice is something I can´t put words to and the veggies it comes with are a perfect snack for some fuel before a school sport.
However, it’s not only the food that makes this place so popular, it’s the warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff is always ready with a smile on their face and makes sure each customer feels at home. Whether you’re ordering for lunch or catching up with friends you will always feel at home at Geordanes.
