This year, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team joined the girls in having a great season with a 11-7 record and making it to the quarterfinals in sectionals. To support senior Will Tuckett in his final season with the team, many underclassmen stepped up and made a strong impact on the team and its dynamic. Four sophomores this season received all-league awards for their impressive achievements.
Nick Grados, an experienced attacker, was one of the four sophomores who received this honor. Not only this, but he also reached his 100th career point this season. Grados, only a sophomore, was an exemplary player on and off the field as he led and supported the team all throughout the season.
Alex Zinman also received the all-league award. Zinman is a versatile player who has strength both in the attack and midfield. He is a high point-scorer who gains numbers in both assists and goals due to his skill in passing, shooting, and playmaking. He also specializes in face-offs and continually earned his team crucial possession with his speed and aggression at the face-off X.
Chris Callahan was another sophomore to receive the all-league award. Although he battled injuries towards the end of the year, he had an outstanding season, persevering through the pain and being an essential member of the team. Callahan runs the midfield, and racks up goals with his cannon of a shot.
Soren DeYonker was the final player to earn all-league. This season, DeYonker locked down the defensive end with his strength and aggression. Game after game, Soren was tasked with the strongest players on opposing teams, and he was constantly able to fulfill this role. DeYonker, as well as the three other sophomores, will continue to lead the team to success during their next two years with the team.
