Is Chopt Serving Fingers in their Salads Now?

by Dani Johnson

Allison Cozzi, a woman in Greenwich, Connecticut is suing the Chopt Creative Salad Company after finding a whole human finger in the salad she had been served. The severed finger was from a manager at the food place who had been cutting the lettuce earlier that day. She left the restaurant to get medical attention and her coworkers didn’t realize her finger had been in the lettuce or that she had left. According to the lawsuit, Cozzi was eating her salad when she noticed that there was a part of a human finger in it.

The inspection report from the county says that the manager told the inspector she cut off the tip of her finger and went to gai medical care. People didn’t realize she had left and that there was a part of the finger in the lettuce, so they continued to serve it as she left. Allison Cozzi wanted to inform the department of contamination and other potential illnesses that could have been created and spread from the food.

Irvington High School Sophomore Julia Welter says “After hearing about that disgusting incident, it really makes me never want to eat at Chopt again. Sweet green is way better anyways”. The Chopt severed finger incident has made students at Irvington High School choose the salad chain Sweetgreen, over Chopt. Chopt is not only being sued by Allison Cuzzi, they are also losing business.
