The Varsity Boys basketball team faced Dobbs Ferry on Saturday, February 18, at 3 pm in the Campus Gym. This was the boys’ first post-season game and their 59-42 victory over the Eagles allowed them to advance to the second round of playoffs.
Senior, James Oley took the tip at the beginning of the game but lost the ball to Dobbs Ferry. This was no discouragement to the Bulldogs as they remained neck and neck with the Eagles throughout the first three quarters.
Junior, Taoig Cypher led the Bulldogs to their victory, scoring a total of 27 points throughout the game. Sophomore, CJ Steinberg followed close behind Cypher, totaling 21 points.
This win sent the Bulldogs to advance to play in the Quarterfinals against Byram Hills. They played the Bobcats on Tuesday, February 21, but ultimately ended their season, losing 57-36.
The boys ended their hard-fought season with a record of 13-9.
“It was an exciting turnaround from last year, and I can’t wait to keep building to next year.” said junior starter, Marcus Canton.
