COVID Booster Shots

Wyatt McInerney

As of September 2nd 2022, the CDC has recommended a COVID booster for people ages 12 and up. This new “bivalent” COVID booster offers better protection against COVID-19.

The monovalent COVID-19 booster shot is no longer available for patients over the age of 12, but they will remain available for younger patients.

A COVID-19 booster is an additional dose of a vaccine given after the protection from the original vaccine decreases over time. Especially with COVID-19 constantly evolving, it is important to get new boosters and be as best protected as possible.

The side effects are usually pretty minimal, the most severe side effect most will get is temporary soreness, and temporary fever and headaches. Most will subside after a day or two.
