Young Thug – “Punk” Album Review

On October 15, 2021, Young Thug released his latest album “Punk”, at 3 AM EST. He released the album 3 hours late because he was adding some features to the album. The features on the album include: Drake, Mac Miller, A$AP Rocky, Future, J. Cole, Gunna, Post Malone, Strick, Travis Scott, Lil Double 0, Juice WRLD, Bslime, T-Shyne, Doja Cat, Nate Ruess, and Jeff Bhasker. The song consisted of 20 songs, with it being 1 hour and 3 minutes long.

David: On my first listen, I was a little drawn back because it wasn’t really his main style of music. However, after listening to it a couple of times, the album really grew on me. My favorite songs on the album are probably “Hate the Game”, “Rich N**** S*** ”, “Livin It Up”, and “Scoliosis.” My least favorite songs are “Stupid/Asking”, “Contagious”, and “Yea Yea Yea”. I feel like the features did a good job and the production was great. My overall rating of the album is an 8.25/10.


Eric: I was a little disappointed at the start of the album, but I did feel that, in general, it got better as it went on. As of now, my favorite songs on the album are “Contagious”, “Rich N**** S***”, “Insure My Wrist” and “Dropping Jewels”. My least favorite songs are “Stressed”, “Livin It Up”, and “Icy Hot”. I think this album was about as average as one could be for me, containing a few good songs, a few bad songs, and a lot of decent songs. I give it a 5/10.

Overall, the production was pretty good in our opinion. We both agree that there were a couple of bad songs, that we both a little disappointed at the beginning, but also that it got better as it went on.
