Donald Trump Pretending to be Jesus?

By Henry Muzzy

Our United States president is facing backlash after his very questionable social media posts; using AI to make offensive videos and pictures of often real people. Many argue that as the president of the U.S., he should not be making and posting these videos to the public. Calls to ban him from X have been made; however, the owner of X, Elon Musk, doesn’t seem to have an opinion on the matter.

Following the riot on January 6th, 2021, Donald Trump’s twitter account was banned for violating the “Glorification of Violence” policy. His account was deactivated until November of 2022 when Elon Musk bought Twitter and renamed it to “X.” But the controversy started before this when Trump was accused of spreading false information regarding the 2020 election, which he lost. Today, Trump’s social media accounts are a big talking point. As of lately, he’s been making AI generated videos and images that tend to be extremely weird and offensive and that he posts on Truth Social.

Most recently, he’s been in the news for having a public feud with Pope Leo XIV. On April 12th, 2026, Trump made comments about the Pope that most people (including the pope) didn’t like. The two were fighting about the war in Iran when Donald Trump posted a picture of himself appearing to look like Jesus Christ. The image is Trump healing someone with patriotic symbols in the background. People erupted with anger, which caused him to promptly delete the image. He has not issued a formal apology to the Pope or anyone he affected. He even went as far as saying it was him acting as a “doctor,” though the image says otherwise.

Another recent (Feb 6) post Trump made was a video that depicted the Obamas as primates. This video was extremely rude, racist, and disgusting. It caused backlash from all democrats and almost all republicans. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt initially dismissed the opposition as “fake outrage” as she said the video was just an “internet meme.” Senator Tom Scott (R – SC) called it “the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House.”

There have been a number of other videos and pictures that Trump has posted to his socials. One video was him flying in a fighter jet called “King Trump,” dumping human waste onto “No Kings” protesters.

Trump’s social media accounts will likely remain a talking point for many years to come. Never once have we seen a president make as obnoxious and belligerent posts from someone of such a high power as him. Many people are pushing for an indefinite suspension of social media for President Trump, which, I believe, will certainly be a humbling experience for him.
