Recently, electric cars have become increasingly popular throughout the world. These cars can have important health and environmental benefits that are crucial to combating climate change.
Despite the positive aspects of electric cars, issues still arise. Charging stations aren’t very widespread throughout the US which creates more inconvenience for EV owners. According to CBS, “There are just 47,000 EV charging stations across the country” which is “less than one-third of the number of retail gas stations.”
In Irvington, we see electric cars all over the place. According to student Kale Heuter the “luxury of the car,” its “benefits for the environment,” and the “promising future of autopilot” are some of the many benefits of owning an electric car.
When referencing the lack of chargers he responded, “Annoying at first before buying the in-house charger. You’d have to go to the supermarket and wait there to let it charge. In-house charging is a lot cheaper than gas and much more convenient.”
The many upsides to Electric cars could make them more popular in the future as resources become more widespread.
