Irv Forecast: Chilly; Periods of Snow and Rain Possible Tuesday Night and Friday

By Josh Chang

This week’s weather could come as a bit of a surprise after last week’s spring-like warmth. With the exception of Thursday, it will be quite cold. Clouds will build and remain after Monday, with periods of mixed snow and rain possible overnight Tuesday as well as sometime on Friday. No significant snow accumulation is expected, maybe an inch or two max.

Monday

High pressure in the region Monday means it will be cold and windy, but plenty of sunshine will make it more bearable. High in the upper 30s.

Clouds will build Monday night. Low in the mid-20s.

Tuesday

Tuesday will be frigid and mostly cloudy as a low pressure builds from the west. Expect a high in the mid-30s.

Periods of snow and rain possible overnight as the weak low passes over the region. Less than one inch of snow accumulation expected. Overnight low temp around 30.

Wednesday

Wednesday will be chilly and overcast. High temp around 40.

Overnight temps in the low 30s.

Thursday

Thursday’s weather will be noticeably better than any other day this week. High temp in the mid- to upper 50s and partly cloudy skies.

Thursday night low in the mid-30s.

Friday & Next Weekend

Some snow and rain is expected at some point on Friday as another low pressure system slides to our south, but considerable uncertainty remains, especially on timing. If the storm hits overnight, it is possible we could get up to two inches of accumulating snow. High in the mid- to upper 30s.

It looks like high pressure will probably build in the region next weekend. That would mean mostly sunny skies modest temps for the most part.
