Review: It’s WandaVision!

By Trevor Annicharico

Before we begin, there will not be any spoilers in this article.

Do you love Marvel? If so, this show is for you. WandaVision is the first TV show to be added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+, and it has taken the world by storm.

This show is about the Marvel Avengers characters Wanda Maximoff and Vision, and it shows them living a seemingly “normal” sitcom life in Westview, NJ. After years of being under pressure as being a part of the Avengers, things seem to have slowed down considerably. That is until some very unexpected twists and turns come around.

WandaVision just completed its first season with the season finale (episode 9) premiering on Disney+ on March 5. Later this month (March 19), another series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be released.

Based on the successful Star Wars model (see The Mandalorian), combining original TV shows with blockbuster films will be how Marvel develops its cinematic universe from here on out. The events of the movies will affect the TV shows and vice versa. And based on how WandaVision has started things, I have a feeling every future series is going to be a hit as well.

I give this show a 9.5 out of 10 and definitely recommend it to anyone who has watched the Marvel films in the past. If you are a Marvel newbie, I recommend watching the Avengers movies Age of Ultron, Infinity War and Endgame before starting this show. Although it isn’t completely necessary, the plot will make more sense if you know the characters’ backgrounds.
