How Restaurants are Adapting to COVID

By Ben Hymowitz

Since COVID started in March, 2020, restaurants have found ways to adapt.

Restaurants like Fortina and The Parlor use an online ordering system called Toast Tab, which also does payroll and front of the house operations.

Toast Tab makes it quick and easy to keep track of orders and to physically order the food. During the summer, Fortina adapted and put up a huge tent with tables on their outdoor patio. They also added a garden with two, eight-top tables.

New York City restaurants have adapted by making platforms on the street to double as a “stage” for tables. In the winter outdoor dining is at a low due to the weather.
