Ms. Gacevic has been appointed as a full time English teacher as of this year. Ms. G was a “leave replacement” teacher last year for ninth and tenth grade English and Creative Writing.
Ms. G was a student teacher at Tappan Zee HIgh School when principal Ms. GM was assistant principal. TZ was also the school she attended growing up. In addition, she has taught at Clarkstown Central School District in New City.
When asked about why she chose Irvington, Ms. G stated that she would be able to connect with the community in Irvington because it was very similar to where she grew up and taught.
“I’ve always loved literature since my childhood,” said Ms. G when asked why she became in English teacher.
She added that when she toured Europe for two months as a student she packed the entire Harry Potter series in her backpack as her carry on.
She also remembers reading the whole summer while in the EU. Ms. G is excited to get to know all of the Irvington students and community.
