The NFL has an injury problem. During the first four weeks of the regular season, the NFL has seen a huge increase in the amount of player injuries, and it has gotten national attention mainly because of big name stars being injured.
In recent weeks, stars such as Saquan Barkely, Austin Eckler, Nick Chubb, Nick Bosa, and many others have been injured. Though people are wondering why there has been such a huge increase in injuries, there seems to be a clear sign.
The pandemic has forced everyone to change their usual routines. This has also applied to NFL players, as this season has been far from normal, with no preseason games, few organized team activities, and altered minicamps.
Overall, there was just not much time to prepare for the season. Preseason plays a huge role in making sure that there are not many injuries because it gets the players in top shape. Preseason also gives players game activity which helps their body adjust to the physicality of an NFL game.
Without this, they have not had their chance to adjust, therefore, their bodies have been caught off guard, leading to the injuries. This is a huge problem within the NFL because it is their stars getting injured, and this could lead to other problems such as a decrease in viewership.
