The Irvington Girls Basketball Team has been on a winning streak and the two teams they faced this past week were no exception.
The Irvington Girls Varsity Basketball played against Ossining at the Ossining Paula Ricci memorial tournament on Saturday, February 4th. Devising a formidable defensive effort, the team was able to beat its tough adversaries.
Senior Amanda Raimondo was the leading scorer with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Anders Knapp followed with 11 points and Alyson Raimondo with 8. Freshman Kayla Clinton made two free throws in the fourth quarter that secured the win for the Bulldogs.
The girls also played on Monday, February 6th against Woodlands, landing another victory for the Bulldogs with a final score of 63-47. Knapp had 21 points, 5 steals, and 5 assists. Additionally, the Raimondo sisters, Amanda and Alyson, had a combined score count of 20 points, while Clinton scored 8 points and had 6 rebounds.
The Girls Varsity Basketball Coach, Gina Maher, stated that “It was a total team effort with every player on the team getting time in the game.”
