Irvington alumni Grace Thybulle enters her sophomore year as a Bulldog at Yale University. Thybulle now appears in the division one college basketball scene after years of success as an Irvington Bulldog.
Thybulle, who graduated in 2021, joined the Irvington Varsity basketball program in eighth grade and continued throughout the rest of her high school years. As a bulldog, she boasts three Class B Section One Championships, along with one State Championship and one Federation Championship, both won in 2019. She won all-section in her sophomore, junior and senior years, as well as being a Section One Class B MVP for the 2019 season.
Outside of Basketball, she was a student council class president for all four years in the High School.
Basketball is a natural talent within Thybulle’s family. Her older brother Sidney, who was part of Irvington’s class of 2019, is currently a senior at Johns Hopkins University and plays basketball for their Varsity Men’s Basketball team. Additionally, her older cousin Matisse plays for the Philadelphia 76ers as well as the Australia National Men’s Basketball team.
In her Freshman year at Yale, Grace had 39 points, 29 points, and 4 blocks over 88 minutes. This year Thybulle has already scored 85 points, and has had 57 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Her playing time has already increased to 241 minutes.
