On October 27th 2022, Elon Musk finished his purchase of Twitter. The billionaire claimed buying Twitter was to “help humanity,” but the way in which he will do this is still yet to be seen. He claims he “didn’t buy the firm to make more money,” so his intent is still very unclear.
Immediately after seizing this company for 44 billion dollars, a number of high level executives were fired making major changes to the company. On top of this, it was said that “anonymous trolls were emboldened to spew hate on the site.”
After buying the site Musk quickly announced through a tweet,”the bird is freed,” and from this statement a number of things can be inferred. From a possible removal of various important bans and censorships, the effects of this acquisition can be dangerous and wildly unpredictable.
