An unknown technological issue recently caused the district’s student information system to incorrectly assign contact information – including phone numbers and emails – to some students’ accounts.
“This is not related to a hacking incident and there has been no data breach nor any release of confidential data,” Superintendent Dr. Kris Harrison assured the community in an email last Thursday.
In addition, the Superintendent was clear that in an effort to correct the error in underway and that any user that is contacted erroneously should immediately respond and let the sender know.
Compounding the challenge is the resignation of the district’s Director of Technology Jay Strumwasser effective Nov. 4th.
In his email, Dr. Harrison said that the District was working on the problem with the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center or LHRIC, along with the technology division of BOCES and the student information software provider eSchoolPLUS to repair the student information issue as soon as possible.
