Seniors Henry Demarest and Nicholas Papapanou have moved on as finalists in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship program.
As juniors, Demarest and Papapanou took the 2019 Preliminary SAT and their exceptional scores qualified them for the National Merit Scholarship program. They represent less than one percent of seniors.
Only 15,000 high school students in the nation were selected by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Half of these students will be awarded scholarships worth about $30 million.
The program’s winners will be announced in March.
