The 2026 Grammy Awards

By Clara Stern

On Sunday, the most highly anticipated music awards of the year kicked off: the 68th annual Grammy Awards.

Here’s a look at the night’s biggest wins:

Album of the Year went to Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny for his album Debí Tirar Más Fotos. Host Trevor Noah praised Bad Bunny’s affordable ticket pricing during his 31-concert residency and the $400 million in concert revenue that was given back to Puerto Rico.

Record of the year went to “Luther” by Kendrick Lamar with SZA. Cher announced the award, and mistakenly said it went to Luther Vandross, a famous singer who has been deceased since 2005.

Billie Eilish won Song of the Year with “Wildflower”, which was released in 2024, but was eligible because Eilish re-released it as a single in 2025.

Junior Eden Mainiero said, “‘Wildflower’ is such a good song, I was so happy when they called Billie Eilish’s name.”

The Best New Artist award went to Olivia Dean. Some people argued that she’s been releasing music for years, and therefore shouldn’t count in the category, but the criteria to be considered is when the artist’s “breakthrough” occurred. But since Olivia only recently entered the public eye, she was eligible.

The night also had its fair share of incidents and controversies.

Alex Warren performed “Ordinary”, but unfortunately his ear piece glitched. This led to a voice delay, which many people pointed out on social media. The artist later made a post explaining that the glitch had caused him to hear two overlapping voices, making his performance difficult to execute.

Junior Rebecca Kronick said, “I think it’s so impressive that he managed to sing with overlapping voices in his ear. It was very professional.”
