On January 16th, 2026, A$AP Rocky released his 4th studio album titled DON’T BE DUMB. The album offers a unique listening experience for all listeners. The 17 song tracklist contains songs across a diverse range of genres diving into Jazz, Psychedelic Rock, Hip-Hop, and R&B. DON’T BE DUMB has 12 feature artists including the likes of Tyler the Creator, Doechii, and will.i.am.
DON’T BE DUMB serves as the ending to A$AP Rocky’s 8 year album drought. Fans were expecting a masterpiece as the album took Rocky eight years, however, though generally positive, the reviews were more mixed than anticipated.
Music critic Anthony Fantano had some things to say about the album on his show The Needle Drop. He thought, like many others, that the album had some really great moments, and other weak ones. At the end of his review, he added that he doesn’t believe this album is enough to bring A$AP Rocky to the top of the Hip-Hop industry. He gave the album a “Light 7” which in Fantano terms, is pretty good.
I interviewed Freshman Mayer Schwartz, a huge fan of hip-hop music, and asked him what his favorite song was. “STOP SNITCHIN’ is definitely my favorite,” he said.
Personally, I thought that the album was decent. There were some standout tracks like “STOLE YA FLOW” and “PUNK ROCKY”, but some weaker tracks like “ROBBERY”. I thought the mix of genres and different features kept me entertained throughout the whole listening experience.
“I really love the production and the lyricism,” said freshmen Cameron Weiner. “The album was great, I really enjoyed it.”
Fans can purchase merchandise from the album, including an RC Helicopter as seen in the music video. Vinyls, CD’s, and cassettes are also available. Rocky is also set to headline the Governors Ball event on June 7, 2026.
