The 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards wrapped up on January 11, 2026, in a dazzling celebration of the year’s top achievements in film and television, bringing Hollywood’s best together at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.
The Golden Globe Awards are an annual event that celebrate achievements in both film and television, where actors, producers, writers, and directors are honored for making outstanding contributions to movies and TV shows over the past year. The Golden Globes are known for recognizing films across a wide range of genres, including drama, comedy, etc. The event is also known for its entertaining atmosphere where many celebrities from the film industry come together to celebrate.
Chloe Zhao’s film Hamnet claimed the best motion picture drama award. Meanwhile, Paul Thomas Anderson’s film One Battle After Another won the best motion picture award for musical or comedy, best director, among other awards.
Another historic moment of the Golden Globes was the introduction of the best podcast category, which was won by Good Hang with Amy Poehler, ultimately setting a new milestone for the awards.
Regarding acting, Timothee Chalamet received his first Golden Globe for best actor in a musical or comedy film, for his role in popular film Marty Supreme. Among other headlines was sixteen-year old Owen Cooper, as one of the youngest winners of all time.
Sophomore, Luka Surgaladze, says, “I loved Marty Supreme and I think that Timothee Chalamet did a really good job of acting, so I was glad to see him receive a Golden Globe.”
With many memorable moments on the red carpet, the Golden Globes once again set the tone for the rest of the awards season, spotlighting standout work from both film and television from 2025.
