As winter comes, many students in Irvington High School have begun to transition from shirts and shorts to sweatshirts and warm clothing. Even though many students often turn to reliable clothes, like hoodies, sweaters, and puffers, recently, many students are opting to wear quarter zips to school.
Quarter zips have been rising over the past few months not only for their comfort, but due to the new TikTok trend. As Tik Tok is one of the main platforms for teenagers, consistency is the reason for new trends that shape clothing, activities and ideas.
David Ufer, a sophomore at Irvington high school says “quarter zips might be some of my favorite clothing to wear in the winter. They are a nice mix of casual and a little dressy. I wear them everywhere.”
As the temperature drops, many students prefer to wear layers to keep warm. Students layer T-shirts hoodies jackets, with various color ways during the winter. These Common color ways in Irvington high school include gray and black, blue on gray, and black on black, with most people wearing the Irvington merch.
“Layers can make an outfit 10x better that’s why winter is the best time for fashion. During the winter, my favorite brands are Supreme and Bape,” says Gabe Kaljevic, a sophomore at IHS.
In addition to the layers, this year many students are wearing straight leg uncuffed pants as they are a big portion of a fashion trend.
Sawyer Stein, a sophomore says “ normally, I wear Uniqlo uncuffed gray sweats. I have them in a light gray, and dark gray color. Along with the gray sweats, I wear white tees, black tees, black zip ups, and navy blue hoodies many times throughout the week.”
Many students’ favorites in the hallways are Irvington affiliated clothing, gray sweats, and black puffers. Along with this, accessories like beanies, earmuffs, and hats or jewelry, like chains, necklaces, and bracelets make their way into students’ outfits.
At Irvington, fashion is very important for most people, and winter fashion trends will always change every year, but everyone will always have their favorite clothing every year.
