The NFL trade deadline was on November 4th. One of the most pivotal days of the NFL season, the trade deadline helps teams acquire players on their path to the Super Bowl.
The Jets were the biggest talk of the trade deadline. While names like Breece Hall and Jermaine Johnson ll were brought up prior to the deadline, it was other Jets who were traded . In the early afternoon, it was announced that the Jets would be trading star cornerback, former defensive rookie of the year, multi-time pro bowler, and multi-time all-pro Sauce Gardner. The trade was very surprising because the Jets made him the highest paid Cornerback in the NFL recently. In July, they extended him for 120.4 millions over 4 years.
The Colts acquired Sauce Gardner for a 2026 and 2027 1st round pick along with 24 year old wideout Adonai Mitchell. Even though Gardner is a pivotal part of the team, the Jets needed the draft picks to improve in future years.
Shortly after, the Saints had come to terms with the Seahawks and gave them wide receiver Rasheed Shaheed for the Seahawks 4th and 5th round picks in the upcoming 2026 draft.
The Jets were not done, soon after they traded star defensive lineman Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys, in exchange for their 2026 second round pick, 2027 first round pick, and defensive tackle Mazi Smith.
While the Jets were the highlight of this deadline, many other teams added help to their teams. Dolphins Linebacker Jaelan Phillips was sent to the Eagles for a 3rd round pick, Jakobi Meyers of the Raiders was traded to the Jaguars for a 4th and 6th round pick, and Logan Wilson was traded to the cowboys for a 7th round pick.
