Hodges Returns as Paw Print EIC for 25-26

Daisy Hodges, Paw Print editor in chief

The Paw Print is happy to announce that rising senior Daisy Hodges will return as Editor in Chief of the Paw Print for the 2025-26 school year.

Hodges, the first underclassman to hold the position in Paw Print history, has presided over unprecedented success this year, helping the newspaper, online news site and multimedia properties, such as the YouTube channel and podcasts, to grow and develop quality content.

“For next year, I’m excited to continue my position as editor in chief with a new staff whom I can guide and teach new things about news writing and being in a typical newsroom,” said Hodges. “I know every person in leadership is a strong and enthusiastic writer, and cannot wait for all the new projects to come.”

Paw Print advisor and media studies teacher Mr. Williams also expressed enthusiasm over the Hodges return, as well as the strength of next year’s full editorial staff:

“After a phenomenal first year, Daisy was the natural choice to return as editor in chief,” said Mr. Williams. “I had high hopes for this year and Daisy exceeded all expectations in both her leadership and work ethic. I’m so excited to be working with her once again next year.”

Also named to the editorial board are Managing Editor (Print/Online): Julia Welter, Managing Editor (Multimedia): Ruby Fieser, News/Student Life Editor: Leila Schneider, Sports Editors: Sebastian Sage and Justin Barger, Arts & Culture Editor: Alice Besidski, Op-Ed Editor: Emmett Ansari, Irv Eats Editors: Navy Minkoff and Ben Epple and Director of Revenue & Marketing: Dani Johnson.

There are a few positions still open on next year’s staff, including CTO, social media manager, art director/layout designer, chief photographer and broadcast producer. If you are interested in these positions and you are signed up to take the Media Studies (formerly newspaper) class every day next year, see Mr. Williams.

The ‘24-’25 print and online editions featured important stories covering student achievements, controversies regarding student parking and school colors, and school field trips nationally and internationally. The PawCast Weekly podcast published 23 episodes on topics such as the toughest classes at IHS, sports betting, play reviews and interviews with staff and students. Our YouTube channel, The PawCast Network, featured videos of the band trip, seasonal Starbucks reviews, commentary on politics, and live coverage of this year’s Color Wars chess tournament.
