Giants Offseason Roundup

By Noah Stein

The New York Giants, the favorite team of most New Yorkers. Coming off of a disappointing 100th season, where they had one of their worst seasons in existence, hope is bright for the men in blue.

The Giants are one of the most successful franchises in sports. Having 4 super bowl victories, and one of the greatest defensive players of all time Lawerence Taylor, yet they are in a dark spot.

The Giants started the offseason with a loss, where they struck out in trade negotiations on the Rams quarterback Mathew Stafford, and he chose to resign in Los Angeles, rather than be traded. The Giants were favorites to grab him.

The Giants addressed all of the team’s issues this free agency by making two quarterback signings, with the addition of former super bowl MVP Russel Wilson, and former Heisman winner Jameis Winston. Both will look to target star receiver Malik Nabers who is expected to have a great season.

The Giants also added a lot of defensive depth especially in the defensive line. Also re-signing wide receiver Darius Slayton, and making a splash signing cornerback Paulson Adebo.

The Giants are in an incredibly talented division, with the Super Bowl champions the Eagles, and a team that just made the NFC championship game in the Commanders.

The big ticket of this offseason for the Giants is the NFL Draft. Due to their poor performance last year, the Giants hold the number three pick in the 2025 NFL draft. There is speculation that they are interested in QB Shedeur Sanders, despite their recent quarterback signing. Additionally, Sanders may not fall to the third pick, meaning they will likely lean towards a defensive player, such as Abdul Carter or Heisman winner Travis Hunter. No matter who they take, the draft will be the most important moment for the Giants offseason.
