On Friday the 6th, Jaden “JJ” Jarrett had a phenomenal performance during his game against the Edgemont Panthers. Irvington’s star running back and linebacker, rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball, JJ tallied 12 tackles, leading the Bulldogs to a 18-0 shutout.
His performance earned “Lohud Player of the Week” honors. This achievement highlights football players among the Section who excel on and off the field for their teams and schools.
“I am happy and honored to have the opportunity to be athlete of the week,” JJ stated, following hearing the news of his selection.
JJ’s performance led the Bulldog Football Team to their first win since the Fall of 2022. His performance is building a sense of hype throughout the Irvington Football Community with the hopes of more success to come.
Looking toward the team’s future, JJ said, “I hope our team can now lock in and not get too confident. We need to stay humble and keep moving forward.”
As a captain, JJ will proceed to lead his team into games with the mentality that they will shut out anyone that steps foot on the field with them. JJ is the type of player that every coach wants to have on their team. He is a gifted athlete, with tremendous size, who is dedicated to the team, and is coachable.
