This year, the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team had an outstanding season, making it to the third round of sectionals and reaching many accomplishments along the way. This season, many players reached impressive career checkpoints.
To begin, junior Sadie Mcrae, who is committed to Rhodes College for Women’s Lacrosse, reached her 200 point checkpoint as well as 100 assists. Sadie is a strong attacker with a specialty in feeding, allowing her to not only score many goals but also earn plenty of points through assisting others with her quick, smart passes. She’s had a remarkable junior season, and will continue adding to her already impressive statistics next year during her final season with the Irvington team.
Next, senior Carleigh Taylor, who is committed to Washington and Lee University for Women’s Lacrosse, reached her 100th goal during this season, then continued to add more throughout the remainder of the season. Carleigh is an incredible midfielder with excellent strength, speed, and skill. She excels in every aspect of the game, and has been dedicated to the team for all four of her high school years. Throughout her time on the lacrosse team, she’s made a huge impact, and will be missed when she goes off to continue her lacrosse career at Washington and Lee.
Taylor, as well as senior Emmaline LeBuhn, both also reached over their 100th draw control this season. They are both quick and smart on the draw and are able to gain first possession of the ball to get plays started. The two seniors have led and controlled the midfield for the entirety of the season. They are both extremely dedicated, hard-working, and talented when it comes to lacrosse. Their contributions to the team are appreciated by all, and they will both be missed on the team next year.
