Paw Print media is thrilled to announce the team that will lead The Paw Print in the upcoming academic year. With a blend of experienced editors and fresh talent, the 2024-25 Paw Print staff will continue to bring engaging content to our school community.
Taking over as editor in chief is Daisy Hodges, who emerged as the top choice to guide The Paw Print into its next chapter.
“I was surprised by the announcement, but I’m super excited to be placed in the position,” said Hodges. “As a rising junior, it’s so important to incorporate the younger writers and create a smooth transition when going into the next year.”
“It was a tough decision [EIC], but Daisy really emerged from a group of talented applicants to be the best choice to lead the Paw Print into the next phase of our development, as we expand what we do with our new campus media lab,” said Paw Print advisor and media class teacher Mr. Williams. “I’m so excited for next year’s leadership team. I know the group we have assembled will lead the Paw Print to great things!”
Assisting Hodges in her leadership role are managing editors Mohun Desai, responsible for multimedia, and Harlan Flamm, overseeing print and online content. Together, they will ensure that the Paw Print delivers news, features, and multimedia experiences that resonate with our student body.
Julia Welter takes on the role of news/student life editor, while Nick Grados leads as sports editor, ensuring comprehensive coverage of both school events and athletic achievements. Danielle Johnson will be in charge of the arts & culture section, showcasing the vibrant cultural scene within our school community.
Jack van der Spuy will lead as the “Irv Eats” editor, and Tessa McRae and Alexis Canfin will manage the Paw Print’s social media presence, keeping our readers engaged across various platforms.
Currently, the op-ed editor and art director positions are open, providing interested students with opportunities to contribute their unique perspectives and creative talents to the publication. Students signed up to take the newspaper/media class next year should inquire with Mr. Williams if they are interested in either of these leadership roles next year.
Chief Technology Officer Justin Luftig and Director of Revenue & Marketing Matt Jacoby round out the team. Each will play vital roles in advancing the Paw Print’s digital initiatives and sustaining its financial viability.
With this talented and dedicated team, the Paw Print is set to achieve new heights of journalistic excellence and community engagement in the 2024-2025 school year.
