The Warnock Basketball Tournament came to an end for Irvington’s varsity girls basketball team on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
The tournament started off strong for the Bulldogs with a huge win over Valhalla, beating them 50 to 36. The team played a great game, and junior Aly Raimando played exceptionally well with 18 points.
Advancing in the tournament, the girls faced Ardsley. Unfortunately, they were not able to further their streak, losing 26 to 50.
Although the tournament is over for the girls, their season is just getting started with upcoming games against Westlake this Thursday, Pleasantville next Wednesday, and Putnam Valley next Friday. Varsity coach Gina Maher is confident in their approaching game against Westlake, stating “We are very capable of beating them; we just have to believe in ourselves.”
