Nestled between Bistro 12 and the All Together Now toy store on Tarrytown’s vibrant Main Street, lies Bibillé, a Korean-Fusion restaurant with lots of character. As soon as I stepped inside, I was welcomed to a comforting ambiance and an irresistible charm.
Similar to the famous Mexican chain, Chipotle, Bibillé offers a bowl, in which customers select what ingredients they would like to include in their customized dinner. Its mainly Korean ingredients provide for a taste unlike any other food establishments in the area.
To begin, customers are asked which base they would like in their bowl, the options vary from beef or chicken, to tofu and shrimp. Next, comes the rice. Brown rice, white rice and purple rice is offered. Next, you take a turn around the glass counter for the toppings. You can choose from lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, radish, bean sprouts, beets, etc. To finish it off, you can decide between Teriyaki Sauce, Korean Hot Sauce, Yogurt Wasabi and their very own Bibillé sauce. The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful as they prepare your meal right in front of you.
I went with my usual order, which consists of beef, brown rice, cucumbers, carrots, lettuce and Bibillé sauce. It was delicious. The contrasting sweet and savory flavors along with the tenderness of the beef had me scraping at the bottom of my bowl, and definitely left me satisfied, with a full stomach.
The customer service, which was absolutely splendid in my opinion, deserved a 9 out of 10 rating. The bowl, which, in my opinion, blew chipotle out of the water, received a 9 out of 10 as well, due to the unique flavors and perfect ratio of beef and rice to their toppings. I would totally recommend this place to any Irvington High School students, or anyone in the rivertowns who is looking for a bite to eat.
