This last week, in lieu of forgetting my lunch, I decided to order a Chicken Ranchero sandwich from Geordanes. The Ranchero, which is famous amongst Irvington students, could possibly be the most hyped-up sandwich that Geordanes has to offer.
As I opened the wrapper, the aroma filled the air, and I couldn’t resist taking that first bite.
Ordered on a wedge bun, the sandwich includes two cutlets, sliced avocado, bacon, melted cheese, and chipotle mayo. These flavors mixed incredibly well. It doesn’t come at a modest price though, falling around $10.
IrvEats reporter Alexis Canfin interviewed multiple Irvington High School students who offered their opinions on the renowned sandwich.
Varsity Boys Soccer captain, Elite 11 player, D1 soccer prospect and fellow PawPrint reporter Brandon Dhanoolal had something to say about Geordanes and their Ranchero. “They’re very good, they’re very expensive but it’s worth the money. I really like the avocado and it’s also very consistent”
Daisy Hodges, a sophomore said “I really love the chipotle mayo, I think it’s a great touch and adds some character to the Ranchero.”
Nick Grados, also a sophomore, said that “It is totally worth the money. Great Sandwich.”
To conclude, this sandwich is fantastic. It is totally worth the hype and the price. Next time you visit Geordanes on Main Street, make sure to get yourself a Chicken Ranchero from the deli!
