The start of winter sports is here, but before the games begin, coaches are getting in extra preseason practices.
The boys basketball team has had three unofficial practices so far, and the players are optimistic.
Senior Toby Gordinier says, “It’s a tough team with tough players.”
They’re going to need to be tough this year to make up for the absence of the graduated star big man James Oley who led the team in scoring and rebounding last year, and senior guard Marcus Canton who will be missing the season with a torn ACL.
Players expected to step up are senior Taoig Cypher and juniors CJ Steinberg and Johnny Guerrero. This core has been building together for years, and this will be their final year to show what they can do.
Coming off a postseason appearance last year, the Bulldogs look to build upon their previous success.
