Right before 8th period on Thursday, November 2, the IHS Drama Club let us have a taste of their latest play, “Dilemmas with Dinner”. The play follows a businesswoman who really wants to get a promotion, and ends up inviting her boss to a dinner party. However, as one might expect, things don’t go exactly according to plan. The theater group has been showing promising enthusiasm for this year’s production team.
“The cast this year is amazing,” said Jeneva Preval. “I’m really proud of everyone. We really pulled through and everyone is working really hard.”
Another thing the junior mentioned about this year’s production would be the addition of 4 new freshman understudies. An understudy is someone who learns a certain role in order to act as a replacement for the original actor if needed. Understudies are a common element in theater productions, however this is the first year that the IHS theater program will have understudies as more people have demonstrated an interest in performing.
“The understudies have really done an amazing job both onstage and backstage,” the theater director, Mr. DiGiovanni, commended.
Mr. DiGiovanni is eager to present for the first play of the school year. “We had so many interesting people auditioning for the show and we wanted to encourage everybody to be part of it,” he said.
