On November 2, junior Mika Hughes organized a volleyball match for epilepsy awareness.
With a fundraiser heavily inspired by color wars, Hughes noticed how much her classmates enjoyed watching and playing volleyball.
With the addition of teachers, Hughes thought the matches would be even more exciting.
“My goal was to raise awareness for Epilepsy as well as money for the Epilepsy Foundation, since we haven’t really seen many epilepsy-related events in our school. In total, we raised over $2,000, which I think is absolutely incredible. I can’t thank everyone who participated and donated enough for their contribution,” Hughes said.
With a great turnout from the student section and entertaining matches pitting students, teachers, and both groups against each other, the IHS Epilepsy Awareness Volleyball Game was very successful.
